Junior Media Systems Engineer
Arcas Technology is partnered with a leading Media company based in Surrey who are currently looking for an experienced Cloud Support Technician to join their business on a permanent basis.
Join a dynamic team in a trainee engineering position with operational responsibilities, contributing to the delivery of cutting-edge networks comprising video recording servers, logging systems, and edit suites. This role involves independent work and collaboration within a team to serve major production companies and broadcast clients worldwide. Responsibilities span on-site duties, maintenance, and setup tasks at our base.
Responsibilities:
- Managing media and content on location, at client premises, or at headquarters
- Assisting in equipment preparation and project planning
- Supporting outside broadcast and fixed rig environments
- Providing logistical support, including delivery and shipments
- Conducting general maintenance and identifying equipment faults
- Selecting equipment, including associated cables and peripherals, from a given list
- Assisting in the construction of systems
- Participating in routine maintenance and regular system checks
- Preparing equipment for dispatch, including packing kit into flight cases and delivering equipment to project locations
Skills:
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication and teamwork
- Task planning and prioritisation skills
- Willingness to learn and develop across all aspects of outside broadcasting, post-production, and fixed rig
- Understanding of Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems (Desirable)
- Familiarity with networking principles (Routing, Switching, OSI model, etc.) (Desirable)
- Experience in ingest/media management (Desirable)
